After we returned from Abu Simbel and checked into our amazing cruise boat and had lunch we went back out for a felucca ride on the nile to see Kitchener Island. The best part of the island for me was that it is the home to a botanical garden, and you know how much I love to shoot flowers! I wish I had my macro lens, and more time, we only spend 30 minutes on the island and Mike moves through that stuff much faster than I do, but I think I got a few keepers.
There were more feral kitties all over the island!
This is when I really missed my macro.
I don't know what this crazy fruit was, but I loved the look of it. I wish they did a better job of labeling things.
After the island we went to the market in Aswan for some shopping. Mike and I bought a souvenir for my Mom and 10 vanilla beans and some cinnamon sticks.
Then it was back to the boat for dinner and sleep while we cruised down the nile. On the way back to the boat Michael tried to sell me to an Egyptian man for 300 camels, I think I am worth more, but even 300 camels would be harder to get back to the US than 1 wife.
