Longwood Feb 2011: People

I rarely take photos of people at Longwood, since that isn't what I am interested in, but when I get together with a huge group of girls I have to take a few.

Georgetown Part 1

This past Saturday I traveled down to Georgetown in DC to meet up with some photography friends. Kim and I met up outside of Philly and rode down together, that made the whole drive a lot of fun!

Once there we met up with Kelly and Rebecca, Amy followed a little bit later.

We had brunch, while chatting up a storm, wandered around to take some photos, chatted, shopped, chatted. There was a lot of talking.

Jenn's Wedding Cake

Cake is always one of my favorite parts of weddings! Jenn's cakes were beautiful, so were the cupcakes for the guests.

Jenn's Wedding Reception

After the ceremony there was of course a cocktail hour, I didn't take any photos then, and then on to the reception. Which was blissfully inside in the air conditioning.

I used my speedlight bounced for all of these. The toasts started the evening.




Followed by dinner, cake and dancing. The cake will get it's own post.



Around this time my photography started to suffer at the hand of the open bar.


So that is the end of the reception photos.

Jenn's Wedding Ceremony

Since I was in the wedding, there are not a lot of photos of the ceremony.

Jenn's Wedding Getting Ready

The ceremony started at 5 so the girls started to get ready around 12.


Jenn's makeup being done by Spike, another bridesmaid (who actually had already done her own hair, pretty talented).

The maid of honor was last, I missed a few bridesmaids in there, but I had to go eat some lunch!

Jenn's Wedding Location

Jenn's wedding was at a beautiful B&B in Pennsylvania called the Cameron Estate Inn.





The wedding ceremony was held by a little stone bridge over a stream.




And the reception was held in the beautiful banquet hall




Jenn and her Mom did a beautiful job decorating the space!

Jenn's Rehearsal

In late June it was time for Jenn's wedding! Starting with the rehearsal dinner.




The rehearsal was in the martini bar, then we went down into the catacombs for dinner.


It was dark so not a lot of photos.

Jenn's Bridal Shower

Just the other day I realized I had never blogged about my friend Jenn's Bridal Shower. It was back in April when Mike was in Saudi Arabia. It was a wonderful small shower in Harrisburg, where Jenn grew up.

It was a lovely shower, followed by a lovely wedding! That is up next!

The Reason

So why did I go down to DC this past weekend? Because Rebecca found out that she is officially going to be working for the US Agency for International Development. I am so happy for her, I know she has been dreaming of this job for nearly a year. Ever since her time at the UN ended she has been praying for a job that will take her back overseas. This will be it. But first she has to go through some training in D.C., hence the trip to find her a place to live during that time.

This past weekend Rebecca and I went down to DC, reason to follow. We got up early on Sunday morning to go see some of the monuments before they got crowded. There were still a couple of people out, but not many. To bad it was overcast, I was hoping for a nice sunrise. Maybe next time, I have a feeling we will be back.
