Day 5 Morning: Kom Ombo Temple

After cruising down the Nile over night we woke up to find our ship docked at Kom Ombo Temple. This was one of my favorite spots that I got to shoot because we arrived so early that the light had more angles to play with than most of our travels. Prepare for a LOT of images.

This was one of the first spots where we really started to get an idea of what the temples might have looked like to the Egyptians back when they were fully decorated.




I was obsessed with the beauty of the tops of all the columns

Flare! And a random greco/roman statue. These slowly started showing up at the temples we saw the Greeks and the Romans also added to the temples when they ruled Egypt.

When I said earlier that we were docked at the temple, I mean that quite literally, we just walked off the boat and right up to the temple.
