Today is the fourth anniversary of when my first DSLR was delivered to me at work and I started this photography journey that I am still enjoying. You can see my previous blog posts here:
Years 1 and 2
Year 3
August 2009
September 2009
October 2009
Rented the 85mm 1.2L for Tacha's baby shower. It's a great lens but I found I didn't really love the focal length. It was really handy for her shower though.
November 2009
Bought my gitzo tripod legs and really right stuff ball head
I also shot newborn photos of my new nephew this month but you have to be friends and family to see those on flickr.
December 2009
Bought a gardenpass for longwood gardens so that I could spend a year focusing on improving my macro work.
We also did Tacha's maternity photos that month
January 2010
Purchased the 100mm L macro IS lens, and fell in LOVE with it!
back to the kitties!
I went down to DC to visit Rebecca before she left for the Philippines.
I also took my new niece's newborn photos, again on flickr.
February 2010
Testing out the 100mmL
March 2010
Trip to longwood to use my garden pass
Still loving the 100mm L macro on the kitties
April 2010
Spring is here!
And another trip to Longwood after Mike leaves for Saudi Arabia
May 2010
Headed off to EGYPT!!
Bought white balance target.
June 2010
Upgraded to Lightroom 3
Took Chloe's baptism photos. I think this one is safe since you can't see her really
Took some photos at the B&B where Jenn's Wedding was held
July 2010
Another trip to Longwood
Purchased extension tubes and pocket wizards (both of which I am still learning how to use)
Scott Kelby Photowalk
August 2010
Sadly I haven't picked up my camera much this month so far, so I have nothing for this!
Overall again the improvement isn't as big as it was the first year or two. But I think choosing to really focus on my macros, and buying the gardenpass for Longwood (and going so often) have done amazing things for my macro photos. My gear buying has slowed drastically too. Can you believe I only bought 1 new lens in a whole year? That is a tough one to believe. I think I will be buying a new one soon though.
