French Quarter

If you know me very well you might wonder why we went to New Orleans during Mardi Gras, I am not much of a drinker, and as my friend Jenn would say, in general I am a party pooper, but I have always wanted to go to NOLA because of all the history and Mike's boss suggested that he go to a conference in New Orleans, and I decided to tag along!  It just happened to fall during the start of Mardi Gras, so I can check that off my bucket list too (though you would be right if you guessed that it didn't really suit me!).

Mike headed down on Tuesday (Valentine's Day) and I joined him on Wednesday.  My morning on Thursday was pretty free so I just wandered around the French Quarter (where we were staying) with my cameras (I brought the 5D mark ii, my rangefinder and of course the iphone). 




















It was surprisingly not all that crowded, even in Jackson Square, I guess that was a combination of the weather, the middle of the week and the fact that it was still a little early. It definitely ended up more crowded later in the week.
