Thailand Day 3: Damnoen Saduak Floating Market

Our third day of the tour we packed up our stuff and left Bangkok to head towards the River Kwai.  On the way we stopped at the Damnoen Saduak Floating Market.  It was very cool, Mike wanted to try all the great food they had, and I just wanted to wander around and shoot things.

Michael actually bought some of those fried bananas you see in the boat on the right. They took his money with a little bucket on the end of a stick and passed the food back the same way.

Melissa took much better photos of the people at the market than I did so you will have look for those when she shares them.

Mike wanted to try a couple of fruits while we where there. First we tried a sample of this one:

They called it Mangosteen, it was delicious!!

Next we tried the Durian

(though this photo was from our next stop). And wow that was FOUL! I honestly nearly threw up in my mouth, and burping it up later was so disgusting. Saying they are an acquired taste is a bit of an understatement. Our tour guide Oh took the rest of ours, she likes it! After that we had to go back and buy the Mangosteen to get rid of the gross taste in our mouths.
